Guide: How to remove Background in Pixlr software

There are many reasons why someone might want to remove the background from a photo. For fun, someone might want to change the look of a photo without affecting the content. For a professional design job, someone might want to remove the background so that they can focus on the content of the photo. There are also many reasons why someone might want to remove the background from a photo for security purposes. ..

If you are in the second category, you may think you need to get expensive photo editing software to remove the background. Unfortunately, that is not the case. All you need to do is visit the online Pixlr editor in your browser. It’s free to use and quite capable of getting the job done. So let’s start with removing the background.

Wave that wand (or throw that lasso)

To use the magic wand, you need to click on it.

To start the magic touch tool, you need to set the tolerance in the menu bar above. This setting allows you to change how detailed your “magic touch” will be. So the more detail in the background, the greater the tolerance. For a simple object with sharp edges in front of the white background, the tolerance of three is sufficient. The image below is a bit more complicated, so we went for 25.

After you use the Magic Wand tool, some smaller parts will remain unselected. To add them to the selection, hold down Shift and click on them with the Magic Wand Tool.

If your image has a lot more detail, it may not work with the Lasso tool. You may need to use the Freehand Lasso or the Polygonal selection tool to make the selection.

Reverse the magic

To invert a selection, use the Magic Wand tool or the Lasso Tool. When you invert a selection, you want to make sure that the background is not included in the inverted selection. To do this, shift the selection to the other side of the canvas.

To Invert Selection, click on the ‘Invert Selection’ button on the toolbar.

Transport to the transparent realm

It’s time to get rid of that background for good. To do that, navigate to the menu bar and choose “Edit” again. This time click on ‘Copy’. This will copy the selected area. Since we don’t want the background, our goal is to transport it to a blank canvas.

New Image

You can choose the name of your new background-free image in the dialog box that appears up. The preset bellows should be there automatically. The width and height should be there too, based on the original.

-Check the box to create an edited image based on the clipboard image -Check the box to create a transparent image

After you click the “OK” button, the new image will have a “checkered” background, which means it has no background. Choose the ‘Edit’ section again, but now click on ‘Paste’. That will transport the image of our lady to our new canvas, with a background.

The manual labor

The manual work of erasing the edges is time-consuming, but it’s worth it to get a clean document. The Eraser tool is located in the toolbar, and you can use it to clean up the edges of your document. ..

To erase something, you first need to select the Eraser tool. Then, you can choose the Brush tool from the bar above. You can use this tool to choose the size of the brush. If you need to change formats, you may need to do this periodically depending on the project. If you need to erase a smaller area, then you should use a smaller brush. ..

To clean up the edges of a document, use these shortcuts:

  1. Use the cursor to erase the unwanted parts of the document.
  2. Use the left and right arrow keys to move the cursor around.
  3. Use CTRL + Z to undo your last move.
  4. Zoom in and out to see what is happening on the screen.

Retention

Save your new image as a JPEG file.

The problem is that JPEG files always have a background. PNG files can have transparent backgrounds. So if your goal is to keep the image as it is, save it as a PNG file.

Magic start, precise finish

Pixlr’s online editor tools are great for creating magic, but you’ll need to wrap it up manually. Nevertheless, this last step isn’t complicated – it just requires precision and a little patience. ..

If you know of another magical shortcut, please share it in the comments. ..
