How to host and start a Spotify session with friends – Guide

Spotify has been offering the breakouts function to users since May 2020. Breakouts are limited to those using Spotify Premium and allow users to create collaborative music sessions where multiple users can listen to the same playlist at the same time. Each player in the group has the ability to control playback and volume. Breakouts have been in beta for almost a year, but work well enough for most people. If you’d like to try Spotify’s breakout sessions with your friends too, you can get started with a few simple steps. ..

Spotify is a music streaming service that can be used when you are thousands of miles away from your friends and want the team to hear the same song at the same time. The service works by allowing you to define up and host Spotify breakout sessions with friends. The breakout session is currently only available to premium subscribers. However, the functionality is accessible through Spotify mobile and tablet app. There is no word on how to make the group meeting feature available on your desktop or in the Spotify web app.

Steps for hosting a Spotify group session with friends are provided below:

  1. Choose a playlist that you want to control

  2. Ask your friends to join the group

To play any song on your phone, open the music player screen and tap the multiple devices icon in the lower left corner. You can also play songs from your computer by connecting your phone to it using a USB cable. ..

The next screen will present various connectivity options such as AirPlay or Bluetooth. You will see breakout sessions with Sign In and Scan to Join options. Press the Login button button to join the session. ..

The next screen will show the Spotify Group single sign-on code. You can ask your friends to scan the code using the Scan to Join option or tap the Invite Friends option to generate a breakout link. ..

Dear ____, I hope you’re doing well. I wanted to reach out and let you know about a new project I’m working on. If you’re interested, I can send you the link using messaging or any social media chat app like WhatsApp or Telegram. Let me know if there’s anything else I can do to help out. Take care, ____

If your friend accepts the invitation, they will be automatically added to the group session. If your friend declines the invitation, they will not be able to join the group session. ..

If they want to join the session, they can either click on the link in the message or click on the session button on the main page. If they want to use the not now option, they can click on the not now button. ..

Option 1: The first option is to open the Spotify app and sign in with your account. This will take you to a main screen where you can choose to listen to music from your library or start a new playlist. Option 2: If you’re already signed in with Spotify, then the second option will appear on the main screen. This option allows you to listen to music from your current playlist or any of your past collections.

If you select “Log on same device as your friend”, you will not be able to hear the music from your side. The playlist will continue to play on your friend’s device. However, you can watch upcoming songs and add your favorite songs to the queue. You can even pause or skip the song.

This option is for parties and functions where you want the same music to continue playing on each user’s device in the group, but you want each member of the breakout session to have their own music player. This way, everyone becomes a DJ.

If you choose the option “On my device”, the music will be played on your device and all users’ devices. This is useful when you are away from your friends but want to hear the same music on all of them.
