How To Enable Nearby Sharing Feature of Google Chrome Browser – Guide
Next, Android has released a response to Apple’s AirDrop sharing feature, which is now available on Windows users through Google Chrome. This feature allows users to wirelessly and instantly share files between compatible devices. Last month, the Near Share feature was introduced in the Google Play Services public beta program. Chromebook users soon had access to the feature also, as it would be being released on Chrome OS. Now it looks like Windows users can use Perto Share in the Chrome Dev or Canary channels.
The Share Next option should appear in the list of options that need to be enabled. Once that’s done, restart the browser and go to chrome://nearby. This page should show a list of compatible devices that can share files using the new feature. It should be noted that Windows PC must have Bluetooth support to be able to use the function. User must also have a compatible Pixel phone or Chromebook. Both devices must first be unlocked and placed next to each other with Bluetooth enabled. ..
To use the Bluetooth feature on a Chromebook, you must have Bluetooth support and a compatible smartphone or Chromebook. The devices must be unlocked and close to each other with Bluetooth enabled. If you are using a Chromebook to test the feature, the Chromebook should have sharing nearby enabled in Quick Settings.
Despite having a PC that supports Bluetooth, I couldn’t see the feature in action as I don’t have access to a compatible smartphone or Chromebook. It’s also worth noting that even though Google Chrome on the stable channel (v84.0.4147.105) shows the Share Next flag on my system, it still doesn’t open the chrome://nearby page. ..

Google Chrome Browser has a Nearby Sharing feature that allows you to share content with your friends without having to leave the browser. This feature is great for when you want to share a link or article with someone, but don’t want to leave the browser. You can enable Nearby Sharing by going to chrome://flags and changing the value from “never” to “always”.
