How to Turn off Animated Emojis and GIFs in Slack – Guide
Slack users often use emoji and GIFs to express their emotions. However, these screensavers can be distracting and irritating. To eliminate all distractions, you can disable emojis and GIFs in the web version and desktop app.
The problem with animated images and emojis is that they can be distracting when they blink out of the corner of your eye. This distraction can make it difficult to focus on your work. Also, in some cases, a flashing GIF or emoji can cause an epileptic seizure in users with photo sensitivity epilepsy. To disable image and emoji animations, uncheck the top checkbox “Allow animated image and emoji”.
How to Turn off Slack’s animated images and emojis
Slack offers the ability to disable all animations on images and emojis to accommodate users who do not wish to have animated images and emojis displayed in their Slack client. This checkbox will prevent images and emoji from being animated.
After unchecking the checkbox “Allow animated images and emoji,” you will not be able to view Animated Images or Emoji.
